SPINE MOSQUE

 

The mosque was liberated from its traditional building means, the design proposed new contemporary ideas in designing mosque and attempting to change the common exercised typologies, to manifest a design that is more honest and authentic to its time. This is achieved through the utilization of contemporary materials and a symbolic reference to both the Minaret and the Dome. the design of the mosque includes designing a prayer area which can accommodate 800 worshippers of whom 100 are females located in the upper floor overlooking the main prayers hall. In addition, the design includes two residential units, one for the Imam of the mosque and the other for muezzin (prayer caller).
