Masjid Imam Muhammad ibn AbdulWahhab

The masjid is highly distinguished by its unique building structure and uses of arcades (a succession of arches, each counter-thrusting the next, supported by columns or piers) and 99 domes used in roofing the aisle of qibla, arcades, mihrab and sabeel. Arcades (Columns and Arches) An arcade is a succession of arches, each counter-thrusting the next, supported by columns, piers, or a covered walkway enclosed by a line of such arches on one or both sides. In warmer or wet climates, exterior arcades provide shelter for pedestrians. The arcade of the Imam Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab masjid is designed using the lancet or Gothic type of arches which are cladded by gypsum and create a domed ceiling space adorned by the multi-layered brass chandeliers.

The Significance of 99 Domes: The number of domes, 99, has a significant religious meaning as it illustrates the special 99 names of Allah.
